Let's Do It Together

These are issues for the start of discussion. I would like to find like minded people who want to do the right thing. I envision a low cost system of finding everyday type of people to seek elected offices across the country at both state and federal levels. This can be done with a website that has our core views, and offering to list like minded people as seeking office. Social media can be used in combination with the website. If there is a movement started, the Meetup platform might be good for getting support. I envision to a large extent keeping money out of the effort, especially through the primaries. The party can decide how much they want to help from there.

The first step is to find people that agree that something needs to be done, and want to take part. Then we can make it happen. The right website can be developed, perhaps with the help of the Meetup Pro platform, which can keep our message uniform across the country. That platform announces meetings to people with common interests.

I consider myself to be a conservative with progressive ideas. With the parties the way they are, I tend to vote Republican. However, since I feel that the Democrat party needs the most change, and since my ideas are somewhat progressive, I think it may be best to seek elected positions on the Democrat ticket.

Which would be better? To be on the Republican ticket with my views and be beat by a left wing Democrat, or to be on the Democrat ticket with my views and be beat by a conservitave Republican? Of course I would rather win with my views. But, if I were to loose, I would rather loose to the conservative Republican.

For the above reason, I would tend to seek office as a Democrat and try to change that party. There could be cases where the conservative Republican needs to be beat more than the central Democrat and it can make sense to run as a Republican. So, I am not choosing a party, but tending to want to change the Democrat party.
