Which best describes the situation?
Since we know the tree of knowledge of good and evil was the forbidden tree, it must have been in the midst of the garden, according to what Eve said.
The Tree of Life was clearly in the midst of the garden. Eve said that they could eat from any but THE TREE in the midst of the garden. If there is only one tree in the midst of the garden, it would have to be the Tree of Life.
Eve must be wrong about what God said.
Scriptures should be correct as originally written. Perhaps it can make sense to simply say that Eve was wrong about what tree God said not to eat from. Or, we could say that there was error in the way the story is written for us. However, if the story can make good sense as written, perhaps that is the intended message, even if it isn't what we have been taught.
There seems to be confusion concerning the Tree of Life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
The story makes most sense if we consider things that we haven't been taught. It can make good sense as it is written without trying to make it make sense by saying that it must mean something else or that Eve was wrong.
